Organic Chemistry ΙI

(Lectures 5 h/week. Assessment: final exam at the end of each term or September)
This course involves the folowing chapters:

  • Aliphatic amines.
  • Organonitrogen compounds other than amines.
  • Carboxylic acids and their derivatives.
  • Derivatives of carboxylic acids in Organic synthesis.
  • Derivatives of carboxylic acids.
  • Organosulphur and organophosphorus compounds.
  • Aromaticity and Huckel's Rule reactions.
  • Aromatic hydrocarbons reactions.
  • Spectroscopy of aromatic compounds, arylnitrogen and aryloxygen compounds, carbohydrates, aminoacids, peptides and proteins.

The above chapters include the methods of synthesis and the reactions of the name compounds as well as the main reaction mechanisms.
