PRESIDENT OF THE “ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY IN EUROPE” PROFESSOR GEORGIOS KOUROUPETROGLOU, DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS, NKUA

Professor Georgios Kouroupetroglou, Chairman of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, NKUA, started his two-year term as President of the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe (ΑΑΑΤΕ) after his election from the members of its assembly. Mission of AAATE is to stimulate and promote the organized knowledge related to Assistive Technology (that includes products, equipment, software, and services) with primary aim to improve or augment the functioning of an individual, including Persons with Disability and elderly, and thereby to allow their participation without limitations in education, in labour market, in social life and in other everyday situations. The main activities of AAATE include the organization every two years of the international scientific conference on Assistive Technology as well as the publication of the scientific journal Technology and Disability (IOS Press).
