THE NATIONAL AND KAPODISTRIAN UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS BECOMES THE FIRST GREEK UNIVERSITY TO ENTER THE 200 BEST UNIVERSITIES IN THE WORLD

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens becomes the first Greek University to enter the 200 best universities in the world, meeting more than one criterion.

More specifically, the N.K.U.A. is ranked 180th worldwide among 12,000 universities according to Webometrics Ranking(2021, 1^st semester). In addition, it is ranked 49th among the 3262 universities in the European Union included in this ranking.

The N.K.U.A. is followed by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 205^th place, the National Technical University of Athens, 329^th place, the University of Patras, 533^rd place and the University of Ioannina, 581^st place.

As the Rector of the Institution Professor Meletios-Athanasios K. Dimopoulos said, The success of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is the result of the internationalization policy and extroversion strategy of our Institution, implemented in recent years and led the N.K.U.A. to be an internationally oriented University, in which important research collaborations and high-profile partnerships are established.
