Teaching

Undergraduate courses/labs:

  • Co-teaching of the compulsory course “Οrganic Chemistry II”: second semester of the undergraduate program of the Department of Pharmacy (2021 – today).
  • Co-teaching of the compulsory course “Inorganic Chemistry II”: second semester of the undergraduate program of the Department of Pharmacy (2015 – 2020).
  • Co-teaching of the compulsory course “Pharmaceutical Chemistry I”: fifth semester of the undergraduate program of the Department of Pharmacy (2014 – today).
  • Supervision of the laboratory course «Introduction in laboratory practice»: first year of the undergraduate program of the Department of Pharmacy (2014 – today).

Research Interests

  • Design and synthesis of classical cannabinoids (ABC-tricyclic compounds resembling the chemical structure of (-)-Δ9-THC) and non-classical cannabinoids (AC-bicyclic compounds) modulating CB1 and/or CB2 receptors, in the context of my Postdoctoral Research at CDD/Northeastern University, Boston, USA.
  • Design and synthesis of adamantane derivatives with diverse pharmacological profiles, such as antiviral, antiproliferative/anticancer, anticonvulsive and/ antinociceptive, trypanocidal and antitubercular.
  • Design and synthesis of small molecules with pharmacological activity against “Neglected Diseases”, such as trypanosomiasis, leishmaniasis and tuberculosis.
  • Design and synthesis of indole derivatives with diverse pharmacological profiles, such as antitubercular and melatoninergic.
