Research topics

  • Separation and purification of natural products using chromatographic techniques (VLC, MPLC, FCPC, HPLC). 
  • Structure elucidation of natural products via spectroscopic methods (UV-Vis, IR, CID, GC-MS, LC-MS, HRMS&HRMS/MS 1&2D NMR).
  • Development of quantitative and qualitative methods for the evaluation of plant extracts using chromatographic methods, HPLC-UV & LC-MS. Structure elucidation of natural products using LC-HRMSn techniques.
  • Development and application of analytical dereplication platform (LC/UPLC-DAD-HRMS&HRMSn) for the structure-oriented isolation and identification of bioactive natural products.
  • LC/MS and NMR based metabolomics approaches (metabolic profiling, fingerprinting) for dereplication purposes, quality control of foods and targeted discovery of bioactive natural products.
  • Development and application of LC-MS & GC-MS-based methodologies for the analysis (qualitatively and quantitatively) of human samples (plasma, urine, faeces). Investigation of the impact of diet on gut microflora and human health.

Distinctions

  • Egon Stahl in silver, a medal, a document and a monetary prize in order to recognize and promote young scientists working in the field of Pharmacognosy(Pharmaceutical Biology) and Analytical Phytochemistry.
