    • Ethnobotany, Ethnopharmacology. Biodiversity and Bioprospecting.
    • Elements of complementary / alternative therapeutic approaches.
    • Phytotherapy. Introduction, Quality control of phytomedicines.
    • Important natural products and herbal medicines: Gastrointestinal and Biliary System, Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System, Central Nervous System, Endocrine System, Urinary and Reproductive System, Reproductive System.
    • Pharmaceutical drugs from marine organisms. Categories, biological activities, applications. Bioactive metabolites in commercially available pharmaceuticals. Biotoxins of marine origin. 
    • Medicinal spices, natural pigments, nutritional supplements.
    • Herbal-drug interactions. Food-drug interactions.
