Research topics

  • Preparation of nanoparticulate systems such as, liposomes, dendrimers, solid lipid nanoparticles, nanoemulsions and nanosystems encapsulating drugs or potentially biological active compounds (peptides, proteins, active macromolecules etc); physicochemical characterization; in vitro and in vivo studies: advanced drug delivery nano systems and fractal analysis of their morphology. 
  • Physical Pharmacy. Thermal Analysis (DSC) studies on lipid bilayers interactions with biologically active compounds, RAMAN spectroscopy, 13C NMR,  SEM, TEM and AFM studies in collaboration with National and European partners.

  • Award from the Academy of Athens, 2018 for his achievements (innovation and interdisciplinarity) in Pharmaceutical nanotechnology and for his exquisite monograph ‘Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology. Fundamentals and practical applications’, Springer, 2016.
