- Development of new synthetic methods. Design and synthesis of organic molecules with pharmacological activity [antineoplastic, antiviral, antibacterial, trypanocidal and Central Nervous System (CNS)].
- Structural modification of bioactive natural products (e.g. melatonin) and their derivatives aiming at the improvement of their potency.
