ΜASTER IN ISOLATION, DEVELOPMENT, PRODUCTION AND ANALYSIS OF BIOACTIVE NATURAL PRODUCTS

Overview

The aim of the master program Isolation, Development, Production and Evaluation of Bioactive Natural Products is to provide postgraduate education in the fields of Pharmacognosy and Chemistry of Natural Products. It is highly relevant to scientists who are interested in working at research and development, production and/or quality control departments in the pharmaceutical, cosmeceutical or dietary supplements industries or they wish to pursue a PhD degree in relevant fields. The program has a duration of 24 months, i.e. of four academic semesters. The first semester starts in October of each academic year.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have a degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Medicine, Material Sciences, Veterinary Sciences or Agricultural Sciences from a Greek University or an equivalent degree from abroad. In the latter case, confirmation of degree equivalence by the Hellenic Academic Recognition Information Center (NARIC, ΔΟΑΤΑΠ) is required. Students, a maximum of 26 per academic year, are selected according to their graduation degree, undergraduate thesis, equivalence of specialization courses (Pharmacognosy, Specialization in Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Organic Chemistry) and an interview hosted by members of the steering committee (additional criteria, such as practical internship, participation in Erasmus or other exchange programs relevant to the field, existence of additional degrees, peer reviewed publications or presentations at conferences, recommendation letters, are taken into account). Greek students must confirm adequate knowledge of English language (at least B2 level). Foreign students must confirm adequate knowledge of both Greek and English languages (C1 and at least B2 level, respectively).
